Just as Mercedes-Benz is toiling on releasing the next generation of its GLE SUV series, freelance graphic designers make conjectures on what its exterior appearance may be like. We won’t know this for sure until the Paris International Motor Show starts much later this year, so why not speculate a bit?
The sketches show the new SUV wearing a massive bumper with air intakes, a voluminous hood cover, LED headlights, stainless steel kick plates, and huge double-spoke wheels. All in all, the car looks much sportier and mode aggressive than its predecessor.
As for the equipment and options, we may expect it to ship with an advanced infotainment system, a digital dashboard, a multi-function steering wheel, and a few new interior finishing options.
It has earlier been made official that the car will get a broader engine palette with all the turbocharged engines the latest E-Class ships with. Two hi-end versions of the car and a hybrid version will also be made available.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE will be based on the MRA platform and fight against such models as the Volvo XC90, Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, Lexus RX, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X5, and Audi Q7 in its market segment.
