2020 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 begins shedding its test mule mascara

Mercedes has been testing its next-gen AMG GLS 63 SUV for longer than a year, but it hasn’t been until recently that the cars started shedding their camo wraps. Well, better late than even later, we guess.

As far as the spy photos are any indication, the SUV now sports a more aggressive design with an especially bulky front bumper and a Panamericana radiator grille with chrome inserts.

Also visible are a modest-sized rear spoiler, a new black wheel set, large brake calipers, and quad exhaust tips.

The current generation of the SUV comes equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 engine rated at 577 hp (430 kW). Rumor has it that the new generation will take advantage of a more efficient 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

The interior of the 2020 GLS 63 houses a new digital dashboard combined with the multimedia display. As far as we know, the car will ship with a self-drive system and other tech-heavy options.
