Mercedes-Maybach will be launching the GLS Edition 100, a production batch of 100 opulent SUVs celebrating a century since the launch of the first Maybach-branded car.
Like the S-Class sedan, the off-roader will be maxed out in terms of trim options and equipment (watch the video to get an idea what the stock car looks like). It will also take advantage of an improved engine. Shipments will begin in early 2022, and pre-ordering will become available later this year on all the main markets where Maybach is present.
Every car body will be hand-painted in silver and blue with commemorative plaques on the c-pillars and hubcaps. The grey wheels pictured here are also new, and air-ride suspension is already included.
The interior will enjoy even more thorough noise proofing than usual, as well as a trim made up from white and pearlescent silver leather. Edition 100 captions will be seen inside as well.
All buyers will get a full-car cover, a handmade leather folder for documents, a feather pen encrusted with diamonds, and champagne glasses made of engraved silver.
A V8 will drive the SUV with 557 PS (549 hp / 410 kW), a minor step down from the Maybach S-Class sedan, which is rated at 612 PS (604 hp / 450 kW).
Prices are pending.
