Gordon @effspot, a U.S. car aficionado and avid traveler, has purchased a used W140 Mercedes-Benz S600 with a six-liter V12 and had it fitted with a crazy exhaust system.
Japanese vendor Brilliant Exhaust has spent several months designing and producing the custom active-valve, straight-pipe system. The resulting price tag shot through $12,000. In fact, the car it ended up on cost Gordon less than a half of that sum.
Watch the video to hear the Formula One-specced exhaust unit in action. And don’t be too surprised if it sounds a bit like the Pagani Zonda M 297: the supercar has the same basic engine design as the S600.
