Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Night Edition debuts with V12 power, 15 units total

Mercedes-Benz is slowly phasing its V12 engine out of production. Last spring, the company issued 130x Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition with that mill, and now, it will be releasing an even more exclusive batch of saloons with it in the United States.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Night Edition boasts an Obsidian Black paintjob, a trunk lid spoiler, and 20-inch wheels. Its interior trim successfully combines black and beige Nappa leather with carbon fiber inserts. The rear seats support heating, ventilation and massage functions and can recline up to 43 degrees. There is a Burmester audio set on board, as well as a dedicated multimedia system for the back seat occupants. Intelligent air suspension analyzes the road ahead to minimize any possible impacts.

The car comes equipped with the abovementioned V12 rated at its usual 630 PS (621 hp, or 463 kW) and 1,001 Nm (740 lb-ft) of torque. The 7G-Tronic Plus transmission sends the momentum to the rear axle, taking the saloon from zero to 96 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.6 seconds.

The new Maybach will be sold exclusively in the USA and will be limited to 15 units starting at $242,950.
