V12 cars are primarily designed to ensure maximum comfort for their owners, not to win acceleration races. Hence, the designers of these Maybach S-Class and BMW 760Li will probably facepalm upon seeing the two duke it out on a drag strip.
The Maybach comes powered by a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 rated at 551 hp (410 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. Its Bavarian rival packs six liters of displacement, but manages to get slightly less out of it: 545 hp (405 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft). Both are RWD, but the BMW has three more transmission gears.
The main difference is in the weight, however, with the Maybach weighing in at 2,605 kg (5,743 lbs) and the 760Li 330 kg (728 lbs) under that.
