Seller claims this Maybach once belonged to Gaddafi, wants €1M for it

A company based in Netherlands is selling a Maybach 57S coupe built ten years ago against a special order. The seller claims the original owner was none other than Muammar al-Gaddafi, leader of Libya who was killed in October 2011.

The car comes powered by a V12 rated at 612 PS (603 hp / 450 kW) and has 2,300 kilometers on the odometer (1,430 miles). The seller wants a hefty €961,950 for it, which appears problematic since there is no actual proof Gaddafi ever owned the vehicle. Furthermore, the wear-and-tear on the driver’s seat indicates much greater mileage than claimed.

A number of tuners used to build S versions of the Maybach 57 to order back in the time, notably including Xenatec. It is estimated that there are between 10 and 20 such cars in the world (watch the video for another example).
