RM Sotheby's will be holding an auction on October 24, 2019, dedicated to a rare Mercedes-Benz SL 73 AMG that used to be in production in 1997 – 2001.
Five years of production may not seem like such a short term, but consider that only 50 vehicles have ever rolled off the assembly lines. Just how many are still around to this date remains unknown.
The Mercedes-Benz SL 73 AMG on sale has a modest 35,000 kilometers (21,750 miles) on its odometer. A 525-hp (391-kW) strong M120 V12 occupies its engine bay, linked to a manual transmission. Accelerating from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 4.6 seconds, and the speed limit lies above 320 km/h (200 mph).
The starting price is not being revealed to the public, and RM Sotheby's asks all would-be participants to submit properly filled admission applications.
