Mercedes-Benz will be unveiling a brand-new generation of the SL-Class later this year, complete with new design, powertrain, and tech. The roadster is still very much a work in progress, but here are its latest spy shots.
The fresh batch looks less carefully disguised than the previous one, revealing some of the radiator grille at the front and clean diffuser outlines at the rear. The fake spoiler from before is gone, and the exhaust tips have been rearranged – it remains open whether this is the final configuration, though.
The new SL will draw inspiration from the 300 SL series and take advantage of state-of-the-art tech and drivetrains designed by AMG. Among other things, it should ship with an electrified V8 TT rated at 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.
