A one-off Mercedes roadster pops up on sale in Russia for nearly $1M

A used Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722S can be yours for 62,500,000 Russian Rubles, or $854,375 USD at the current conversion rates.

This makes it the second most expensive used Mercedes in that country, with a Maybach Pullman stretch limo barely in the lead with 65,000,000 RUB ($888,550 USD). The seller claims it is 12 years old, with three owners, 15,000 km (around 9,300 miles) on the odo and a crash-free record. The entire package of maintenance-related documents comes with the purchase.

According to the seller, it is also the least expensive 722S in the world right now, because prices within the EU start from €900,000.

Back in the time, Mercedes made only 150 such roadsters, and you may watch the attached video for another example. Every car came with a carbon-fiber body kit, carbon-ceramic brakes and a 10mm reduction in ride height. The name 722S references the Mercedes 300 SLR racecar with the registration number 722 that won the Mille Miglia race in 1955.

The model uses a 5.5-liter supercharged V8 and a five-speed automatic transmission to drive the wheels with 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 820 Nm (610 lb-ft) of torque. It needs 3.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph), 10.6 seconds to get to 200 km/h (124 mph), and maxes out at 335 km/h (208 mph).
