One out of just nine Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive supercars will soon enter an auction priced at €1.05 million for starters.
The model debuted at the Paris Motor Show nine years ago as the Tri-Pointed Star’s first incursion in the EV market. Its 6.2-liter V8 with 571 PS (563 HP / 420 kW) made room for quad electric motors jointly rated at 750 PS (740 HP / 552 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft). Being able to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds and maxing out at 250 km/h (155 mph), it was the fastest production car on the planet at the time of release.
The company had intended to produce around 100 units priced from €416,500 each, but extremely low demand led to only nine built in total.
The example on sale has changed hands twice and covered only around 3,800 kilometers (2,361 miles). It wears a Green Electric paint and has an interior trimmed with black leather and carbon fiber.
