Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced a new, all-electric version of its Sprinter panel van. The car comes in two trim versions.
The more affordable eSprinter sports a short roof, while the more expensive one features a distinctly taller roof. Both come driven by a single front-axle-mounted motor rated at 114 hp (85 kW) and 295 Nm (218 lb-ft) of torque. The battery size can be either 41 or 55 kWh, but the driving range is rather modest due to the dimensions and weight of the car. In the 41kWh variant, Mercedes says it covers 115 kilometers (71.5 miles) on average prior to needing a refill, and the 55kWh version covers 168 km (104.5 mi). That said, topping up the battery takes only 30 minutes if you use a high-power charging station.
The pricing for the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter lineup has not been revealed yet.
