You can buy the latest Mercedes eSprinter panel van in Europe, but not the USA or Canada where it is deemed not safe enough for road use. The next generation aims to change that.
A new all-electric unitized architecture will enable Mercedes-Benz to bring its eSprinter model to North America. The production will take place in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Aside from investing €350 million into the abovementioned new architecture, the company will be putting €50 million into upgrading its production capacities for the new eSprinter. The assembly is set to begin in the second half of 2023.
