Mercedes-Benz has announced that the retail sales of an updated 2018 model of the incredibly successful Mercedes Sprinter commercial van should begin soon. The car comes packed with numerous modern features and can be obtained in any of the 1,700+ modifications to suit everyone’s taste.
The vehicle will be made available with the front drive, rear drive, and 4WD. It can already be pre-ordered in Europe, with prices starting at €19,990 for the base trim level.
The new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter comes in six different body types – from a panel van to a 20-passenger bus. Its maximum carrying capacity also varies from 2.5 to 5.5 metric tons (5,500 – 12,125 lbs.), depending on the modification.
Engine choices in Europe include 2.1-liter, four-cylinder diesel engines with 114, 143 and 163 hp, and a 3.0-liter diesel V6 with 190 hp and 440 Nm of torque, among other options. An all-electric Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will be released two years later.
Speaking of the designer effort, one may note that while the car retained its immediately recognizable features, it has got a more modern and stylish appearance. Its interior has a layout that’s strictly ergonomic and practical. The driver may take advantage of a 360-degree round view camera system, a state-of-the-art infotainment center and other nice features dedicated to driving safety and comfort.
