The Mercedes-Benz V-Class made do with Sport and Adaptive suspension designs throughout its history, but now, buyers can opt for the deluxe Airmatic system.
The Airmatic allows free ride height adjustment and maintains the chosen height regardless of the load. Adaptive shock absorbers can react to the various road conditions and adjust themselves on a per-wheel basis.
Activating the Comfort or Manual mode leaves the clearance at its default value, but accelerating past 110 km/h (68 miles per hour) will trigger a lowering by 10 mm (0.2 inches). Switching to the Lift mode raises the van by 35 mm (1.4 inches), and choosing the Sport mode does the opposite.
