Mercedes-Benz Vito becomes a sports van

The Mercedes-Benz Vito LCV has gained a new modification in Great Britain, called the Sport. A similar, but not identical trim version called the Sport Line is available in mainland Europe.

Compared to the standard Vito, the newcomer boasts sporty stripes on its hood and sides and rides on larger rims (up to 19 inches in diameter). Interestingly, the special edition is available for both the Vito Tourer (passenger van) and the Vito Crew Van (commercial van, popular among construction companies and delivery services).

Customers who buy the Vito Sport may choose between two cabin sizes, two trim schemes, and two boost versions of the same 2.1-liter OM 651 diesel engine. One of these has 163 hp (122 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, while the other one offers 190 hp (142 kW) alongside 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque. The rear-wheel drive stays the same in all configurations.

The Vito received a mid-generational refresh in continental Europe in March this year, getting a new diesel engine called the OM 654. Three boost versions are available: 136 hp (101 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft); 163 hp (122 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft); and 190 hp (142 kW) with 420 Nm (310 lb-ft).
