Mercedes-Benz has shared a short teaser vid titled ‘Icon Reloaded’. It features a mysterious car illuminated with plenty of LEDs that vaguely looks like the fabled C111 Concept from the distant past.
A pixel animation in the video flashes ‘One-Eleven’ for a brief moment – this is what the original vehicle designed in 1969 was called. The body outlines are also quite similar, as are the taillights. Unfortunately, we still have no premiere date to go by.
In its essence, the Mercedes-Benz C111 lineup was dedicated to experimental prototypes that the manufacturer used to try out the latest developments in drivetrain design and aerodynamics. The first two entries were the most popular, packing rotary engines rated up to 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW). Of course, chances are better that the new car is all-electric instead.
