The second generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is almost ready to debut in its full glory, as the latest spy video suggests. The premiere will likely take place in late 2022.
The new AMG GT shares its platform with the AMG SL Roadster, giving us an idea on what it may look like under the disguise. The video shows two test vehicles at once, a standard GT53 spec and a V8-packing GT63.
Rumor has it that Mercedes will be converting the next AMG GT generation to mild hybrid power in order to maximize the efficiency and minimize emissions. The flagship spec will allegedly ship with the same drivetrain under the hood as the GT63 S E Performance. The latter utilizes a V8 TT and a single electric motor to slam the wheels with 843 PS (831 hp / 620 kW) and 1,467 Nm (1,082 lb-ft) of torque.
