Mercedes-Benz has updated the base trim levels of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Both the GT 43 and GT 53 now strongly resemble the previously facelifted GT 63 top spec, although they pack an inline six-cylinder engine under the hood instead of a V8. The standard configuration has also been expanded, but the tech stays the same.
Both the GT 43 and GT 53 now sport a new front bumper and redesigned air intakes making the car seem wider. Those who would like even more GT 63 semblance can opt for a package called V8 styling, which replaces the front end with a different design inspired by the AMG GT Black Series.
A new exterior finish called Opalite White Metallic is available as well. The base trim spec now includes a power sunroof and a wireless charging pad between the rear seats. The MBUX infotainment stays the same, but benefits from updated graphics. For the audio system, buyers can choose between Burmeister and Burmester Dolby Atmos.
The oily bits stay unchanged. Like before, the AMG GT 43 gets 367 PS (362 hp / 270 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The GT 53 squeezes 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque out of its hybrid system. Both cars use an electric starter that adds another 22 PS (22 hp / 16 kW) when necessary.
