Mercedes-AMG will show a new sports car soon, but not to everyone and not for free

Mercedes-AMG will hold a private event called AMG GT Live Sneak Preview for its most valued customers. According to Motor1, the attendants will have to pay €450 to see the second generation of the AMG GT and participate in a number of activities.

The company posted a photo of a draped-over car and called it an ‘official teaser’ without specifying the model. The cloth reveals a coupe silhouette with smooth, flowing lines, a massive radiator grille, a barely visible bumper, a hood crease and fender flares. Overall, it looks substantially different from the first-gen AMG GT.

The AMG GT Live Sneak Preview will take place on July 10–13, 2023, and the tickets are nearly all sold out. The participants will be arranged in groups no more than 24 people each and will be able to talk to an expert about the new AMG GT. They will also be able to take other recent AMG models out on a test drive and embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of the factory.

It is still unknown when the new generation may get released, but the sports car has repeatedly been spotted testing outside (see the gallery and the video below). As such, we expect it to debut soon.

Chances are good that the next AMG GT will be based on the same tech as the Mercedes-AMG SL and have two seat rows instead of one. The company promises us multiple powertrain options, including the high-end AMG GT 63 S E-Performance spec with around 850 PS (838 hp / 625 kW).
