Mercedes has attended this year’s Goodwood gathering with a nearly production-ready AMG GT Coupe. The second-generation prototype even ascended the famous hill and entertained the audience by showing off its drift chops – albeit not without hiccups.
As you can see in the video, the AMG GT Coupe performs a few stunts and gets the crowds going, but then the driver hits the acceleration too hard and the car ejects itself onto the grassy area near the hay bales. There is no visible damage, but the front diffuser may have been bent slightly in the process.
Judging by the quad-tip exhaust system, the car is a range-topping model 63 – the 53 and 43 both make do with simple round pipes. There is also no charging port anywhere in sight, prompting the guess that the car is V8-powered without any electric add-ons.
