Mercedes-AMG GT2 gets a track-focused Pro version

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled a new version of its GT2 supercar for the track. It has a ‘Pro’ suffix and targets private racers. Unlike the original GT2, it is not standard-compliant, but adds 43 horsepower (32 kW) to the output and supports a wider range of chassis adjustments. Prices start from €479,000, a €70,000 premium over the base model.

Like the base GT2, the Pro utilizes a 4.0-liter V8 with 707 PS (697 hp / 520 kW) at its disposal. However, drivers get a feature called Push2Pass which briefly boosts the turbo pressure and delivers 750 PS (740 hp / 559 kW) to the wheels. The transmission is six-speed sequential and has revised gear ratios.

In turn, the suspension makes use of different, four-way adjustable shocks. The aerodynamic kit has been slightly revised as well, with the rear wing getting a different pair of side winglets. Drivers get an improved dash display, an air conditioner and an updated steering wheel, but the passenger’s seat comes as a separate paid option.

All cars are sold with a plethora of track day accessories. These include Puma racing driver gear, a Bell helmet sporting custom graphics, and an invitation to the AMG Racing Series track day events in Europe.
