The street-legal racecar that is the Mercedes-AMG One had spent over five years in development hell, but now that it is finally out, everyone seems genuinely impressed by its performance. One of the owners took delivery of the car only to haul it to Topaz Detailing for some paint protection.
The English shop specializes in complex full-body protection solutions. Rather than just stockpiling rolls of vinyl wrap, the company conducts precise measurements of body panels to ensure that the film sticks evenly and without the slightest defects. The measurements are then stored in a database on a per-client basis to save time during repeat visits to the shop.
Work on this particular hypercar was made especially challenging by its complex aerodynamic shape and the need to maintain a perfect tri-pointed star pattern throughout the entire exterior – no seams or breaks allowed.
