The Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan and wagon transitioned into the next generation in February 2021, but it is only now that the two have gone on sale in the performance-focused AMG 43 spec.
Prices in Europe begin at €71,460 for the sedan and €73,245 for the more practical estate version with its long roof and extra trunk space.
In its latest generation, the AMG C 43 forfeits its outdated 3.0-liter V6 rated at 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) in favor of a mildly hybridized 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo. The same engine comes with the SL 43 and makes 408 PS (402 hp / 300 kW) along with 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The sedan needs 4.6 seconds to get to 100 km/h (62 mph), and the estate is only one-tenth of a second slower on the uptake.
Both models sport such signature AMG traits as the Panamericana grille, aggressive bumpers, round quad exhaust tips, 18-inch wheels, and different side sills. The interior greets with a sports steering wheel and front seats, as well as AMG décor all around.
