The ultimate Mercedes C-Class shows up in teaser pic

Mercedes-AMG has revealed the first image of its upcoming C 63 model and set the date for its debut: September 21. The sedan is expected to trade its V8 four a four-pot, but still come out on top of its main rival, the BMW M3.

The image only reveals the basic outlines of the car with its headlights and taillights, a sculpted hood, pronounced wheel arches and door handles optimized for a natural grip.

Earlier reports stated that the next-gen C-Class would not ship with its usual V8 engine anymore. Instead, it will allegedly go hybrid like the C 43, with the same 2.0-liter turbo core. Rumor has it the four-pot alone will churn out record-breaking and class-leading 470 PS (464 hp / 346 kW), and the electric motor will add another 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW).

According to Motor1, the car will utilize a small 6.1-kWh battery. It will be chargeable from external sources, but the all-electric range will be very limited. Unlike the BMW M3, the Mercedes sedan will have AWD in all versions.
