Starting next year, Mercedes-Benz will launch a whole new series of ICE cars and EVs based on a brand-new platform called MMA. One of these vehicles – presumably the next-gen Mercedes CLA – has been caught on camera somewhere in Germany.
Despite the abundant camo all around, there is no mistaking the sedan body style. The headlights and taillights look like temporary stand-ins, and there are fake panels visible at both ends. Most of the smaller details are hidden, but you can still see the flush door handles, the side mirrors and the relatively long rear overhang.
It is even difficult to say whether there is an internal combustion engine under the hood. We were unable to find any signs of an exhaust system, and the undercarriage looks a bit too flat for an ICE car. If anything, it could be the all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA, provisionally known as ‘EQA’, which is scheduled for release around 2025.
