Mercedes-Benz flaunts tri-point star headlights as a new trademark feature

According to Mercedes-Benz Design Director Gordon Wagener, the headlight units previewed on the CLA Concept will later be adopted by the marque’s entire production vehicle lineup.

Commenting on the design, Wagener compared the DARL patterns of the new headlights with ICE car tailpipes, saying that customers pay great attention to such details.

He also hinted that an entry-level sedan is coming to the market that will take advantage of most of the company’s current design language. It will also have a faux grille so as not to look ‘faceless’. A whole lineup of the Stuttgart company’s electric vehicles will also adopt this design.

As for the production-ready CLA-Class, it is scheduled for reveal sometime in 2024. Later on, the MMA platform it is based on will be used to produce an electric wagon based on the CLA Shooting Brake Concept and the next-generation EQA and EQB models.
