Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to phase out its current CLA lineup with a single electric car going under the same name. In the meantime, the old CLA gets a Final Edition for those interested.
It’s based on the stock Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S (see video) and comes in two flavors – sedan and Shooting Brake. Customers can also choose from two exterior finishes called Mountain Grey Magno and Night Black Uni. Both come adorned with special graphics in black and yellow and ride on 19-inch matte-black wheels with yellow accents. All shiny trim bits are blacked out by default, leaving just one chrome bezel around the gas tank filler door.
The interior looks upscale with black imitation leather and microfiber upholstery all around interspersed with yellow accents. These include contrast stitching, special edition embroidery and assorted logos. An AMG aero package is available for a premium, lending the car a more aggressive look and adding gloss-black exterior details.
Power for the CLA Final Edition lineup comes from the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 421 PS (415 hp / 310 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). Mercedes claims it’s still the world’s most powerful four-banger of its kind. Both the sedan and the Shooting Brake need 4.1 seconds to get to 100 km/h (62 mph) and max out at 270 km/h (167 mph).
Orders are already being processed and will remain available through the end of the year. Mercedes hasn’t used the word “limited” anywhere, so it looks like there will be no production cap.
