Mercedes-Benz E-Class spied testing beyond the Arctic Circle

As you have probably heard, Mercedes-Benz is no longer taking orders for the current E-Class sedan (the wagon is fine so far). The good news is that the next-gen E-Class is coming soon: a few vehicles were sighted driven on public roads in the Arctic with some production bodywork this weekend.

The sedan has less camo on it and boasts production-ready headlights and taillights. It looks like it could debut in late 2022. We already know that the model will receive pull-out door handles in premium trims and normal handles in the rest of the lineup. Other than that, the exterior looks typical Mercedes fare: the cars sell well, so design changes are always kept down to a minimum.

The interior will benefit from certain features borrowed from the S-Class, and the infotainment system should also get an update. As for the engine palette, it will most likely consist of assorted mild hybrids and PHEVs.
