Mercеdes-Benz E-Class Estate PHEV caught on camera during tests

The new generation of the Mercеdes-Benz E-Class is already on the horizon, coming to the market in both sedan and wagon flavors. The latest bunch of spy shots shows the latter driven around with a part-electric powertrain under the hood.

From the esthetic point of view, the plug-in hybrid is indistinguishable from the regular gas-powered E-Class unless you can spot the charging port. It is also not an AMG model, as the radiator grille makes clear.

Other than that, camo wrap conceals most of the design, leaving only the headlights with thin DRL strips exposed. The taillights are also quite intriguing with their curved sections. A peek inside reveals a digital gauge cluster and a vertical multimedia display.

E-Class buyers will be able to choose from a variety of powertrains, including PHEV and MHEV ones. The E 63 spec will crown the range offering around 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW).
