The Chinese Ministry of Industry and IT has released the patent photos and the main parameters of the upcoming long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The new sedan is nearly as long as the S-Class, but runs exclusively on two-liter engines.
The sales are set to begin this summer. The car is stated to be 5,092 mm long, 1,880 mm wide and 1,493 mm tall with 3,094 mm between the axles. This makes it 143 mm (5.6 inches) longer than the standard E-Class with 133 mm (5.2 inches) of added wheelbase.
Judging by the images, added glass sections next to the c-pillars and āLā badges are the only visual differences from the stock model.
The new E-Class comes in two main versions: E 260 L, which is rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW), and E 300 L with 258 PS (254 hp / 190 kW) at its disposal.
The worldwide premiere of the E-Class took place at the end of the last month (see video). In Europe, the model will get exclusively four-cylinder engines electrified to different extents to output between 197 and 380 metric horsepower (194ā375 hp; 145ā279 kW). In the United States, there will be a six-cylinder variant as well, but it will be rated at the same 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW).
