The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ is a rather unique sedan that combines sporty acceleration with uncompromising driving comfort. Even so, German tuner Brabus feels it can use further upgrading. After releasing a 800-horsepower version a year ago, the company is now following up with a 900-hp one.
On the outside, the archnemesis of the BMW M5 boasts a carbon-fiber body kit comprising a splitter, a radiator grille, air intakes, a diffuser, a rear wing and a handful of smaller elements. The overall styling is surprisingly reserved and perhaps even elegant for a Brabus car, and Monoblock Platinum Edition Z ten-spoke rims sized 21” only serve to reinforce that initial impression. The suspension is lower than stock by 20 mm (0.8 inches), which the tuner claims improves handling at higher speeds.
The interior makes intensive use of artificial suede and genuine leather of the top grade, with a pinch of aluminum and carbon fiber thrown in for good measure. Customers are free to order a bespoke makeover here based on materials and colors of their choice.
The AMG V8 under the hood has been bored out to 4.5 liters of displacement (up from 4.0l) and receives assistance from new dual turbos. A nine-speed automatic transmission carries up to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels. Sprinting from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes only 2.8 seconds, and the top speed lies at 330 km/h (205 mph).
