Mercedes-AMG E53 wagon spied testing

The next generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class will incorporate high-end AMG variants as well, and an AMG E53 Estate has been spotted on the roads already.

The current E53 spec (see video) uses a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine assisted by an electric starter for a combined 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW). There is the assumption that the new C63 may wind up with a 2.0-liter turbo four-pot and a couple of motors joining efforts for 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) or so. In theory, the new E53 may get the same powertrain as the C63, but dialed down slightly. That said, it should still surpass the current generation.

Based on the images, the new AMG E53 brings along some major design changes. According to the earlier spy shots, it also gets an all-digital instrument cluster.
