A pre-production example of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz EQC has been spotted on the streets of Germany the other day, Motor1 reports. It had a redesigned exterior with pull-out door handles, lower-sat side mirrors on the doors, and a narrower hood. The head- and taillights were obvious placeholders.
The reason the electric car changed so much is that Mercedes carried it over to a new platform called MB.EA, which is supposed to be a better fit for mid-size and large EVs.
The rear number plate sits much higher up than on the current model (see video). Last but not least, there is a small protruding fin – either a mini-spoiler or a light bar between the taillights, it’s hard to say with the camo on.
In earlier news, Mercedes-Benz confirmed its plans to assemble all MB.EA cars in Bremen, Germany and Kecskemét, Hungary.
