The development of the all-electric Mercedes G-Class is in full swing, and the production SUV is expected to premiere before the end of the year. In the meantime, someone with a camera managed to track down a camouflaged pre-production example.
The EQG is still wearing a wrap in the video that conceals most of its design features. Of course, there is no concealing the trademark boxy exterior. The cabin is only briefly glimpsed, but it looks like the battery-powered G-Class will have two 12.3-inch dash displays, just like its petrol counterpart.
For the powertrain, Mercedes promises us four electric motors driving one wheel each. Their combined power output is unknown, but estimated to be between 600–670 horsepower (450–500 kilowatts). Once fully charged, the SUV should be able to cover at least 500 km (310 miles).
