Mercedes-Benz continues preparing to reveal an all-electric successor to the iconic G-Class, and the latest video showcases its capabilities in a rather impressive way.
The vid follows a “journey to the past” theme and stars two off-roaders – the all-electric G-Class and its predecessor, the G300 GE from the 1990s. The action takes place on mountainous dirt roads near Perpignan, France. Both vehicles ascend steep slopes and ware through mud.
The company highlights the sophisticated protection that keeps the EV’s electronic systems safe from damage even when exposed to sharp rocks or water. The 360-degree standing turn that the company calls “G-turn” is also shown.
The team behind the video claims that only another G-Class has the moral right to judge how good the electric SUV is – this is why the comparison in the video is drawn between two Geländewagens.
