Mercedes-Benz EQV becomes a battery-powered campervan

Swiss company Sortino, which specializes in retrofitting commercial and passenger vans, is now offering a campervan conversion for the Mercedes-Benz EQV starting from 9,980 Swiss francs.

The starter package includes a pop top, a folding bed and a large box containing a fridge, a sink, a removable cooktop with two gas burners, and multiple drawers.

Options include front seats that can swivel 180 degrees and additional USB ports, as well as 200W solar panels for the roof. Customers can submit both standard and stretched versions of the van for the makeover.

The original Mercedes EQV (see video) debuted more than two years ago. It relies on a single electric motor with 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) for propulsion. Batteries come in 60- and 90-kWh sizes, the latter promising up to 363 km (225 miles) of range. New prices in Switzerland begin from 71,100 francs.
