In 2023, Mercedes will be launching sales of a facelifted EQV model, but in the meantime, a partially clad prototype was discovered parked somewhere in Finland. The letter ‘E’ on the number plate unambiguously means electric car.
Although the EQV debuted only three years ago, it was based on an elderly 2014 Mercedes-Benz V-Class. As such, it looks rather dated compared to the German brand’s other recent models. The facelift will bring along a completely revised headlight design, new bumpers at both ends and changed taillights.
The camera person never provided any cabin shots, but it seems that the whole dashboard and the steering wheel are covered with cloth, suggesting significant changes there are well.
It remains to be seen whether Mercedes will go as far as to increase the efficiency of the electric motors used by the EQV and the range provided by its battery. The current version (see video) gets between 230 and 418 km (143 and 260 miles) of range on a charge depending on the installed battery size.
