Tuned G-Wagen outperforms the new AMG G 63 in expensiveness

A 10-year-old Mercedes-Benz G300 CDI Professional is on sale in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for ₽20 million ($268,800 USD). The car is a special edition for forestry departments, mining companies and off-road enthusiasts.

German tuner ORC converted this example into an expedition vehicle, painting the body in sandy yellow and adding a snorkel, a bull bar and a roof tent for two. Meaty tires wrap around Hutchinson wheels, the side mirrors benefit from robust supports, and there are shovels and sand tracks provided for getting the SUV out of traps.

Elsewhere, there is a second fuel tank for up to 1,000 km (621 miles) of driving range, an 80-liter fresh water tank, and tire compressors. The interior offers benches for seating, a shower cabin, a fridge and Recaro Modular seats. Whether the 3.0-liter V6 diesel under the hood was modified is not mentioned anywhere.

The off-roader has 31,500 km (19,600 miles) on the odometer to show for a decade of use, and the seller claims it is in superb condition.

The G-Class Professional range of vehicles comes based on the W461 chassis designed in 1991 and the recently announced W464. You may watch the video for an overview of this special version. Since last fall, all road-legal G-Class vehicles can be outfitted with a package called Professional Line, which comes with a roof rack, black bumpers, a towing kit and displays for rear bench occupants.
