A military-spec Mercedes G-Class customized by Austrian tuning house Puch is currently on sale in St. Petersburg, Russia for an asking price of 3,000,000 rubles (~48,900 USD).
The G-Class for the army was produced starting from 1979 until 1992. This particular example rolled off the assembly line 33 years ago. It has 2,000 kilometers (1,242 miles) on the odometer to show after the restoration, while the full mileage remains unknown. The seller supplies two wheelsets along with the car – 18-inch alloys and 16-inch stamped wheels.
Only the front seats inside are placed as usual: the rear row was ditched in favor for two paratrooper benches each suitable for three or four passengers. The tent-like top can be removed manually.
Both interaxle differentials are lockable. The trim version is rather low with artificial leather covering the seats, wind-up windows and no modern comfort/safety features.
Powering the Austrian exotic is a 2.3-liter gasoline engine churning out 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW) to a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine is Euro-2 compliant and runs on ON92 fuel.
