The Mercedes pickup truck was ultimately a failure, but this did not stop tuners from making their own versions. Here is one such version, the Brabus XLP Adventure based on the G63 AMG chassis and tech.
Looking at the front fascia, you may think it is a standard G-Class with a few aftermarket mods thrown in for good measure. There is, for instance, a Warn winch, a slightly modified bumper, and a roof rack with LED lights on it.
The truck bed is rather modest-sized, which is especially apparent in the video by MercBenzKing, where the bed holds a full spare wheel and a couple of gas canisters. The tailgate slides to one side rather than dropping, which can be advantageous for some.
The engine, however, is stock and still produces its usual 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. The cabin is also standard G63 AMG fare with only minute changes.
This is not the only XLP Adventure Brabus has on offer, however: browse our gallery to see a different example with a more aggressive body kit, a drone landing pad and an 800-PS (789 hp / 588-kW) engine.
