Famous Mercedes tuner Brabus went for something different than cars last spring with a custom motorboat called Deep Blue. It has now unveiled a Mercedes-AMG G 63 styled in the same vein with 900 metric horsepower under the hood.
The off-roader wears a full Widestar carbon body kit including bumpers, a ventilated hood, fender slares and a spoiler, among other things. The whole exterior received a respray in a dark shade of blue and lost what chrome it had from the factory.
The titular shade can also be found inside the cabin on the plaques, badges and trim inserts. Certain controls and details are also painted blue, and the dash panel has a Panerai Luminor watch integrated in it.
A new control unit for the air-ride suspension helped Brabus lower it by 45 mm (1.8 inches). Custom-made brakes and 24-inch wheels shod in low-profile tires rounded things off.
For the powertrain, the company opted for its proven 4.5-liter Brabus Rocket V8 mill rated at 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque. The SUV reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from zero in 3.7 seconds and maxes out at 280 km/h (174 mph). A custom exhaust system is provided for active sound control.
