Carlex rolls out a G-Class series inspired by the ‘70s

Polish interior specialist Carlex Design has unveiled its next large-scale styling effort: a Mercedes-Benz G-Class dressed out like something straight out of the 1970s. Unsurprisingly, it’s called G-Vintage.

Working with the latest G-Class, the tuner outfits it with shiny chrome bumpers, a matching radiator grille, new badges all around and chrome side steps. 20-inch aftermarket wheels slot into the arches along with whitewall tires, and even such minor details as window bezels get a tasteful makeover.

The interior impresses even more with its immaculate trim composed of vintage leather and Alcantara. Buyers get to choose from nine exterior colors and three trim schemes. The trunk area can be lined with natural wood as shown in the gallery here.

Last but not least, the stock twin-turbo V8 gets a bump to 817 PS (806 hp / 600 kW) and 1,020 Nm (752 lb-ft) of torque.

As usual, Carlex doesn’t mention any pricing details, but the first orders are already being processed.
