The Mercedes-AMG division turns 55 years old this year and wants the date to be remembered (watch the enclosed ad video if you would like some of the mood). In the meantime, the company is also launching a special trim package for the GLE SUV, named the Edition 55.
Only 55 units will be made for the United States. Each car will be finished in either Diamond White Metallic or Obsidian Black Metallic with contrast inserts on the sides, original 22-inch wheels and anniversary badges.
For its part, the interior will be trimmed in black and red with Nappa Classic leather and illuminated stainless-steel kick plates adorned with ‘AMF Edition 55’ captions. The same lettering can be found throughout the cabin on the announcement photos.
All buyers will be getting a free full-car covers made from a breathable material.
Pre-orders are already running, and Mercedes-AMG says shipments will continue until the end of 2022. Prices in Europe vary from €5,950 to €13,090.
