Mercedes-Benz must have wanted us guessing about the appearance of its GLS facelift until April, but CarBuzz posted a bunch of screenshots allegedly leaked straight from the German company’s online configurator. As one might expect from a modern Mercedes, the visual changes are barely there.
The front bumper has been revised and is poised to ship in multiple versions. The non-AMG radiator grille now has four horizontal bars. CarBuzz also points out refreshed headlights, but they frankly look very similar, if not identical, to the current version.
Other than that, we can safely expect the new GLS-Class to enjoy the same scope of updates as its smaller cousin, the GLE. This means a new steering wheel, updated infotainment software and expanded interior trim opportunities, among other things. The engines can be expected to get a minor performance bump across the entire range, and we would be very surprised if we saw any non-electrified options.
The launch date is yet to be announced. Once the flagship SUV hits the showroom floors, its particularly luxurious Mercedes-Maybach version should come out. As for the prototypes, we have been seeing them since 2021.
