UK-based company Tom Hartley Jr is selling a rare Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman made even more expensive by its celebrity background. The car had belonged to multiple famous musicians throughout the years and was originally made for John Lennon of The Beatles. It is in ideal condition and doesn’t have a public price.
Mercedes has made a total of 304 such four-door limos, out of which only 39 had their steering wheel on the right-hand side. This one left the factory premises in 1970 and was optioned by Lennon with an advanced array of audio equipment. The legendary singer optioned it with black leather, velour and polished wood trim, as well as a 6.3-liter engine rated at 250 PS (247 hp / 184 kW).
After The Beatles disbanded, Lennon sold his Pullman in 1974 and went to the USA. It was reacquired by another member of the Liverpool 4 – George Harrison. He had only driven the car for slightly over a year before passing it on to Mary Wilson, who is known to the public as the voice of The Supremes, along with Diana Ross.
A while later, the automotive rarity made it back to the Mercedes factory, where it received a full restoration. The carmaker used it in multiple promotional events and sold to a private collector in 2007. It looks like that collector is the one selling the car right now, although the details are unknown.
