Mercedes-Benz expands customization options of its S-Class flagship

Mercedes-Benz has started offering Manufaktur customizations for the range-topping S-Class model, the S 63 AMG E Performance (see video). Buyers can now choose from a variety of exterior and interior mods, while the drivetrain stays stock.

New exterior colors include graphite metallic, kalahari gold magno, mystic blue metallic, night black magno, olive metallic, rubellite red metallic, silicon grey uni and vintage blue uni. For the interior, there is a diamond-stitched Nappa leather option on the list now, as well as AMG badges on the headrests.

The armrests, the door inserts, the center console and the lower dashboard are also trimmed with Nappa in this spec. Matching fine leather can be found on the steering wheel rim as well. Illuminated kick plates and custom floor mats available with gold or platinum embroidered badges round things off.

From the technical perspective, the S 63 E Performance remains a hybrid car with a 4.0-liter V8 at its base and 802 PS (791 hp / 590 kW) at its disposal, as well as 1,430 Nm (1,055 lb-ft) of peak torque. The traction battery capacity is rather limited at 13.1 kilowatt-hours, but still enough for 33 km (20 miles) of all-electric driving. Launching from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in hybrid mode takes 3.3 seconds.
