This 30-year-old Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (R129) was tuned beyond all recognition by Swiss tuner Sbarro in 2004 and ended up on sale a few days ago, but no one felt compelled to part with the requested amount of 250,000 Swiss francs.
Sbarro is not a stranger to bizarre car modifications, and this roadster was one of its show cars for the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. However, it was painted light blue instead of pink back at that time, and lacked components such as the giant rear wing you can see here.
An SL 600 at heart, the roadster comes equipped by a V12 producing around 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) in stock form. With nearly 150,000 kilometers (93,000 miles) under its belt, it was used rather actively. The seller says the car enjoyed a full round of pre-sale maintenance at an authorized service center. It also had its hood cover repaired not long ago for an unspecified reason.
The listing touted the car as the only one of its kind in the whole world. Unfortunately, no one cared.
