Meet the Pogea Project 107, an exemplary SL-Class restomod

The renowned Pogea Racing has imported a 46-year-old Mercedes 450 SL from the United States to Germany and turned it into a gorgeous restomod with both visual and tech upgrades.

Perhaps most importantly, the car now rides on the Mercedes-AMG C 55 powertrain. As such, it commands a V8 rated at 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW), the same transmission and steering as the C 55, better axles and modern safety features. There’s no word on how fast it is, but we suppose it’s a non-issue.

KW Variant 3 coilovers in the suspension and Brembo brakes improve handling, while 19-inch forged wheels shod in Michelin PS4S tires ensure proper traction. The interior boasts a major overhaul with Recaro Ergomed seats, a Restomod Air HVAC and a modern audio system complete with a subwoofer.

The car is known as the Pogea Project 107 and is fully street-legal in Germany. There is no mention of the cost, and it’s a one-off anyway, but those who want something like this can reach out to the tuning company and ask for a similar build. As of recently, Pogea officially works with vehicles from Porsche, Ferrari, Chevrolet and Volkswagen – plenty of choice for exclusivity chasers.
