Mansory-tuned, carbon-bodied SLR McLaren crops up on sale for $750k

An exotic car dealership is asking an astronomical amount of $749,800 USD for this 14-year-old Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, more than twice the usual price of similar supercars. The reason? A complete makeover by Mansory.

The tuning shop swaps out the standard bodywork for a new body kit called Renovatio, which is made from naked carbon fiber and includes a hood, front fenders, both bumpers and a rear diffuser, among other things. The doors and the trunk lid stay stock and retain their original Osmium Grey finish. The car rides on 20- and 21-inch multi-piece forged wheels.

Carbon fiber finds extensive use in the cabin as well, including the steering wheel, the gear lever and the center console.

In its stock guise, the 5.4-liter V8 under the hood is no slouch at 626 PS (617 hp / 460 kW) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque. These numbers are enough to take the roadster to a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph). Mansory buffs up the powertrain to 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. Sprint times are not specified.

The modded McLaren has around 22,200 kilometers (13,800 miles) of use on it.
